About K&C Music Repair
K&C Music Repair opened in the summer of 2015 to better service K&C Music's customers. By moving all repairs to an in-house shop we are able to provide high quality repairs faster with less cost for the customer.
Beyond servicing the K&C rental fleet the new repair shop will be open to all private customers and schools. Because we are responsible for so many instruments it is easy for us to stockpile instrument parts allowing us to complete repairs faster than other shops.
About Our Technicians
Music has been an important part of Ben's life from a young age when he started on saxophone. He later switched to tuba and studied Music Education at the University of New Hampshire. After having apprenticed as a repair tech for several years he returned to study Tuba Performance at The University of Massachusetts Amherst.
As an experienced performer he is able to service woodwinds and brasswinds to satisfy even the most particular player. His background in music education allows him to work with players to identify any issues that may stem from personal technique.
In his spare time he enjoys live music, good books, and any projects that let him break out his toolbox.
Christine started with K&C Music over 15 years ago while she was still in high school as extra help for rental nights. Through dedication and hard work she became a full-time employee working in the warehouse, and eventually managing the entire warehouse staff.
Having first hand experience dealing with K&C's large inventory she was inspired to learn to repair and start KCMR. She completed a power course in brass repair at the Colorado Institute of Musical Instrument Technology (CIOMIT). Since she has been back she has excelled at instrument repair, and is even beginning lessons to start playing woodwind instruments.
In her spare time she enjoys relaxing with her wife and their cats, sketching, and annually traveling to Disney World.
Jonathan joined K&C Music the summer of 2015. He received his BFA in Oboe Performance from Boston University, and has played with the Israel Chamber Orchestra, Boston Pops, and Boston Opera Company among others. His expertise in oboe repair has garnered him national recognition as one of the preeminent technicians in the field.
Jonathan's background as a performer, teacher and highly skilled technician makes him uniquely qualified as an oboe specialist.
In his spare time he enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities.
